Season 3 – Episode 13
The Awakening
The evening sun cast a warm glow over a decent-looking house standing in a quiet neighborhood.
The surroundings were peaceful.
A well-maintained garden surrounded the property, with flowers and neatly trimmed grass adding color to the front yard. Small lights had been placed around the building, illuminating the house beautifully as the evening slowly approached.
Inside the house...
Upstairs...
A young boy sat at his study table.
Gary.
He was nine years old.
A pencil slowly rolled between his fingers as his eyes remained fixed on the open book in front of him.
He had been staring at the same page for several minutes.
Nothing about it interested him.
The sound of the door opening made him look up.
A woman with medium-length black, slightly curly hair entered the room.
It was his mother, Naya.
A bag hung over her shoulder as she walked inside with a warm smile on her face.
Naya: "Hey, sweetheart!! Have you done your homework?"
Gary glanced at his book.
He hadn't even finished half of it.
Gary: "Yeah..."
"I'm almost done."
His voice was plain.
There was no warmth in his response.
Naya didn't seem bothered by it.
She continued walking toward him before noticing the unfinished work on his desk.
She placed a hand near her mouth.
Naya: "Oh, I see."
"If you need anything, then let me know, okay?"
"I'm going somewhere with your dad."
"Take care."
Gary looked at her.
Gary: "Yeah."
"Goodbye."
"Take care."
Naya smiled softly before leaving the room.
The door closed.
Silence returned.
Gary stared at it for a few seconds.
Then he slowly closed his notebook.
His neck rested against the back of his chair as he stared at the ceiling.
Gary: "Seriously..."
"Life is so boring."
His eyes shifted toward the window.
Gary: "They're just busy with their own lives..."
"I've already told them I don't like this school."
"Why do I even have to go to a school called Nameless?"
He sighed.
Gary: "I've heard Blackridge is a decent place."
"And Ironfall Academy..."
"Well, that's kind of fancy and cool."
"I haven't visited either of them."
He looked toward the clock sitting on his table.
The time was getting late.
Gary finally stood up.
He turned off the light before leaving the room.
---
The next morning...
Gary woke up and got ready for school.
His parents had already returned home.
But both of them were still sleeping.
Gary quietly opened the refrigerator.
He took out a cold sandwich and poured himself a glass of milk.
After finishing his breakfast, he grabbed his things and left the house.
The wind outside was cold.
The streets were almost completely empty.
Gary walked alone toward school.
His hands remained inside his pockets as he stared ahead.
Gary: "Ahh..."
"Another boring day at school."
He sighed.
Gary: "I don't know why no one wants to be my friend."
"What could be the reason?"
"Maybe because I'm an introvert?"
He thought about it for a moment.
Gary: "They're like..."
"If you don't approach us yourself, we won't talk to you."
He clicked his tongue.
Gary: "Well..."
He cursed quietly under his breath before continuing toward the school entrance.
---
The hallways were as usual.
Nobody paid attention to Gary.
Nobody greeted him.
Nobody even seemed to notice when he walked past.
Gary entered his classroom and sat in his usual spot in the middle.
He opened his notebook.
The rest of the students began preparing for class as well.
Gary looked toward the door.
Gary: "Can't you come a little late?"
"I just got here."
He muttered to himself.
But before he could say anything else—
The door opened.
A boy entered the classroom.
He had black hair with a slight blue shade.
He was quite cute.
And good-looking.
The teacher walked in behind him.
Teacher: "Boys..."
"He's your new classmate."
The teacher looked toward the boy.
Teacher: "Introduce yourself."
The boy raised his head.
His expression remained calm.
Jin: "My name is Jin."
"I'll be studying in this school from now on."
The teacher nodded.
Teacher: "Okay."
"You can sit at the front desk, Jin."
Jin moved without saying anything else.
He walked toward the first row and sat in the middle.
Gary stared at him.
Gary: "Hmm..."
"He's silent."
"Just like me."
Gary continued observing him.
Gary: "But..."
"I think there's a difference."
He looked around the classroom.
Gary: "Where I want to be with others..."
"He looks more like someone who thinks the opposite."
Gary glanced toward the girls in the classroom.
Several of them had already started staring at Jin.
Gary raised an eyebrow.
Gary: "Yeah..."
"Already catching attention around the classroom."
---
Two hours passed.
The teacher eventually left the classroom, as usual.
The rest of the day was left to the students.
Gary stood up and walked outside.
But before leaving completely, he stopped at the doorway.
He looked back.
Jin was still sitting in his seat.
Gary stared at him for a moment.
Gary: "I was right."
"Unlike me..."
"He's choosing to be alone."
Gary finally turned around and continued walking through the hallway.
He didn't get very far.
Suddenly—
Two older boys pushed him against the wall.
Gary's back hit it.
Gary: "Hey!"
"Watch it!"
The two boys turned toward him.
Both had black hair.
Both wore the uniform of Nameless School.
They were seniors.
Victor: "What did you say, kid?"
Freddie: "Who do you think you are, kid?"
"Which class are you from?"
The two boys towered over him.
Gary's confidence immediately disappeared.
Gary: "W-Well..."
"I'm sorry."
He lowered his head slightly.
Gary thought:
Shouldn't the older students be in the other section?
Why are they even here?
Before either of the two boys could continue—
A loud and excited voice came from behind them.
"Victor!"
"Freddie!"
"Stop picking on kids!"
Victor and Freddie turned around.
Their expressions changed.
They immediately smiled.
Victor rubbed the back of his neck.
Victor: "We're not picking on anyone, Red."
Freddie nodded.
Freddie: "Yeah."
"We weren't doing anything."
Another boy approached them.
He had black hair with maroon-colored eyes.
His expression was relaxed.
His name was Red.
Red looked toward Gary.
Red: "Let him go."
"He's no fun."
Victor and Freddie exchanged glances.
Victor: "Well..."
"Yeah."
Freddie released Gary.
The two seniors walked away.
Gary watched them.
For some reason...
He decided to follow.
Gary thought:
Seniors...
I know them.
They're the bullies, right?
Red is famous throughout the school for it.
And those two must be his right-hand men.
Gary followed them outside.
He entered the school grounds and continued walking behind the building.
Then he stopped.
His eyes widened.
Red was sitting on some old tires.
A cigarette hung between his fingers.
Nearby, Victor and Freddie were beating up several students.
Gary remained hidden behind the edge of the building.
He watched silently.
Freddie: "We told you to bring the stuff, didn't we?"
"How are you going to pay us back?"
One of the students trembled.
Student: "Please forgive us."
"We'll bring it tomorrow."
Victor stepped forward.
Victor: "It's your last chance."
"Make sure you don't forget."
The students quickly ran away.
Victor dropped the bat he was holding before walking over and sitting beside Red.
Red took another drag from his cigarette.
Gary remained hidden.
But Red suddenly spoke.
Red: "Come out, kid."
"I know you're standing there."
Gary froze.
Freddie immediately looked toward the edge of the wall.
He spotted Gary.
Freddie: "Hey!"
"Where are you going?"
"Come here."
Gary immediately tried to run.
But Freddie grabbed him.
Gary struggled.
Gary: "No!"
"Let me go!"
"I didn't see anything!"
"I was just curious!"
Freddie laughed.
Freddie: "Kid."
"We don't care if you saw something or not."
"Who doesn't know what we do?"
He grabbed Gary and threw him forward.
Gary landed on his knees.
He looked up.
Red was staring directly at him.
Red: "What's your name, kid?"
Gary hesitated.
Gary: "I..."
"I'm Gary."
Red raised an eyebrow.
Red: "Gary?"
"From the elementary section, huh?"
"We're from the middle section."
"We're older than you."
Gary glanced at them.
Gary: "I..."
"I can see that."
"I know pretty much."
Red smiled.
Red: "Oh, really?"
He threw his cigarette onto the ground.
Then he bent down until his face was closer to Gary's.
Red: "You're the same kid who doesn't get along with others, right?"
"I've seen you."
"Always standing somewhere alone."
Gary's face became slightly embarrassed.
Gary: "Uh..."
"Yeah."
Red stared at him.
Red: "Is that so?"
He looked toward Victor.
Red: "Victor."
"Give me the bat."
Gary froze.
Victor handed Red the bat.
Gary's body began trembling.
He wanted to run.
He wanted to leave.
But he couldn't.
He was frozen.
Red raised the bat.
Gary's eyes widened.
The bat swung downward.
But—
It stopped.
Just before hitting him.
Gary remained frozen.
Red stared at him.
Red: "Impressive..."
"You didn't even try to cover your head."
"You would've been done for if that had landed."
Red threw the bat aside.
Gary slowly looked up.
Red smiled.
Red: "I can't tell if this is courage..."
"...Or a complete lack of sense."
He paused.
"But I think..."
"I've started liking you a bit."
Victor and Freddie looked at Red.
Gary looked confused as well.
Gary: "Started liking me?"
"What does that mean?"
Red laughed.
Red: "I mean..."
"You're interesting."
"If you ever get into trouble..."
"Or if you want to hang out..."
"You can come to us."
Gary stared at him.
Red continued.
Red: "And maybe..."
"I think I need to teach you how to defend yourself."
"You can't be living like a weak person, alright?"
Gary frowned.
Gary: "Weak person?"
Red nodded.
Red: "Yeah."
"You're not that smart."
"So just go."
"You'll understand when the time comes."
Gary slowly stood up.
But he didn't leave.
Red looked at him.
Red: "I told you to go."
Victor suddenly shouted.
Victor: "Don't you hear him?!"
Gary immediately ran away.
Red laughed.
Red: "Haha."
"You shouldn't be that harsh on him."
Victor shrugged.
Victor: "He's quite fun, though."
Freddie looked at Red.
Freddie: "But are you sure?"
"Taking him into our group?"
Red pulled out another cigarette.
He lit it.
Red: "Yeah."
"But that doesn't mean we'll stop our main purpose."
He looked toward the direction Gary had disappeared.
Red: "He'll be one of us soon."
---
Present
Gary ducked beneath David's punch.
His fist passed just above his head.
Gary immediately countered.
His own punch struck David's side.
David stumbled backward.
Gary followed up with another attack.
For a brief moment...
He had the advantage.
One-on-one...
Gary was able to keep up with David.
But every time John entered the fight, everything changed.
Gary was forced onto the defensive.
John attacked from the side.
Gary blocked.
David immediately followed.
Gary dodged.
Another punch.
Another kick.
Gary moved between them, constantly trying to prevent himself from being surrounded.
His eyes remained focused.
His breathing was becoming heavier.
But his mind...
Was somewhere else.
Gary thought:
Yeah...
It was boring.
Going to the same school every day.
Not having any friends.
His body moved automatically.
He dodged another punch.
Blocked a kick.
Tanked a hit against his shoulder.
Then countered with a punch.
His mind drifted further into the past.
He remembered those days.
Those ordinary days.
The days when Red and his group had been around him.
Even though Red wasn't a good person...
He had still been good to Gary.
While Red bullied everyone else...
Gary had been protected.
Nobody dared to mess with him.
Not because Gary was strong.
But because everyone knew who stood behind him.
At least...
He had gotten some friends.
Even if they weren't good people.
They were still the light in his otherwise empty life.
A fist suddenly slammed into Gary's face.
THUD!
Blood dripped from his nose.
Gary staggered backward.
He wiped the blood away with the back of his hand.
Then he looked at the two officers.
Gary: "Two against one."
"What a fair fight."
"Is that how you coward cops fight?"
David remained serious.
David: "We're not here for fun."
John stepped forward.
John: "We want to capture you as quickly as possible."
Gary smiled.
Gary: "Well..."
"Disappointing."
"You're still struggling."
He looked behind them.
His eyes widened slightly.
Four more officers had arrived.
David looked toward them.
David: "These are A Ranks."
"Now you won't escape."
"You should surrender while you still can."
Gary stood silently.
His fists slowly clenched.
Gary: "No."
"I won't."
His voice became colder.
Gary: "I finally got to know..."
"I'm so close."
"So just..."
"Fuck off."
Gary suddenly charged toward the four A Rank officers.
The officers moved.
Gary attacked.
One grabbed his leg.
Another caught his arm.
Gary struggled against them.
John immediately moved in.
His fist slammed into Gary's face.
THUD!
Gary's head snapped backward.
David followed.
Another punch.
Then another.
Gary was surrounded.
Punches continued landing against him.
Gary struggled to break free.
Gary thought:
Shit...
I'm losing?
Why?
His vision became blurry.
His body was beginning to feel heavy.
His mind returned to Red.
Gary thought:
Red...
What would you do if you were in my place?
Would you...
Just give up?
Or would you struggle until the very end...
Just to find out?
Gary's fist tightened.
He refused to fall.
Not yet.
---
Six Years Ago
Gary walked beside Red.
The two of them were heading across the school grounds.
Gary looked up at him.
Gary: "Hey, Red."
"Is it true you're B Rank?"
Red glanced down at him.
Red: "Yeah."
"You doubt it?"
He laughed.
Red: "I'm very strong."
Gary smiled.
Gary: "Nope."
"I'm actually happy that..."
"Someone strong is my friend."
Red suddenly stopped walking.
He looked down at Gary.
Red: "Happy, huh?"
Gary nodded.
Red smiled.
Then he placed a hand on Gary's head.
Red: "Well..."
"I'm also happy."
"As your senior."
Gary smiled.
It was a genuine smile.
Not one born from excitement.
Not because something funny had happened.
Gary was imagining something.
Becoming like Red.
Strong.
Powerful.
Someone nobody could push around.
Someone who could protect himself.
Someone who could stand above everyone else.
Gary wanted to become like him.
But...
There was one part of Red that Gary didn't want to become.
---
Red slammed one of the D Rank students onto the ground.
The boy cried out as Red twisted his arm behind his back.
Another student attempted to attack.
Red caught him immediately.
He threw him down as well.
Red: "How did you even think you could do something to our group?"
The students struggled to get back up.
Red glared at them.
Red: "Go back home if you hate us that much."
"Just stop coming to school."
Victor and Freddie stood nearby.
Victor crossed his arms.
Victor: "Stop thinking you're something."
"Even if Red is the same B Rank as us..."
"He's stronger."
"Same rank doesn't make you equal."
Freddie nodded.
Victor continued.
Victor: "It wouldn't be wrong to say there's no B Rank in the city better than Red."
"In short..."
"He's the top of B Rank."
The students of the middle section lowered their heads.
They quickly returned to their section.
Red looked at them.
Red: "These weaklings are from the same section as us."
"Quite disappointing."
Victor laughed.
Victor: "No one in the school is even near us."
Freddie nodded.
Freddie: "That's true."
Gary looked between the three of them.
He smiled slightly.
Gary thought:
Yeah...
I want to be like Red.
But maybe...
There's one part of him I wouldn't want to be like.
---
Later that day...
Red entered Gary's classroom.
The students immediately stopped talking.
Victor and Freddie followed behind him.
Red looked around.
Red: "Gary?"
"Where is he?"
One student answered.
Student: "He went to the toilet a few minutes ago."
Red nodded.
Red: "Ohh."
His gaze suddenly shifted.
He noticed Jin.
The new student was sitting quietly.
Ignoring them.
He was writing something in his notebook.
Victor immediately walked over.
He grabbed Jin's notebook.
And threw it onto the floor.
Victor: "You stupid kid."
"Don't you know who's here?"
Freddie stepped forward.
Freddie: "You dare to write while your seniors are standing next to you?"
"Show some respect."
Jin didn't seem to care.
He stood up.
Picked up his notebook.
Then sat down again.
Red chuckled softly.
Red: "It's okay."
"I heard he's new."
"He probably doesn't know about us."
He paused.
"Which is strange..."
"Because it's been weeks since he arrived."
Red walked toward Jin.
He slammed his hand onto the desk.
BANG!
Red: "Well..."
"Mind introducing yourself, kid?"
"I'm Red."
"Middle section."
"Your senior."
"Fourteen years old."
Red extended his hand.
Jin didn't shake it.
Jin: "I'm Jin."
"Ten years old."
"Elementary section."
Red slowly pulled his hand back.
Red: "Well..."
"I already knew the last part."
He studied Jin.
Red: "Hey, kid."
"Is this courage?"
"Or a lack of sense?"
He was genuinely questioning it.
Red: "I'm asking you something, kid."
Jin finally looked up.
His eyes met Red's.
There was no fear.
No nervousness.
Nothing.
Red paused.
Red: "Ahh..."
Before he could continue—
Gary entered the classroom.
Gary: "Hey, Red."
Red turned around.
His expression immediately changed.
Red: "Oh."
"Hey, Gary."
Gary walked toward them.
Gary: "Let's go."
"It's time."
Red nodded.
Red: "Oh."
"Yeah."
"Sure."
He turned around and began walking away.
But before leaving...
He glanced back at Jin.
Gary walked ahead of them.
Gary: "I made it in time."
"I don't want that kid to become their target."
"He's not even bad."
He paused.
"I just don't want anyone from my class to end up like the others."
Red smiled.
Red: "So, Gary..."
"How about you learn a few things about fighting?"
Gary looked surprised.
Gary: "Well..."
"I think..."
"Sure?"
Red smiled.
Red: "Alright."
"Follow me."
The group walked toward the school grounds.
Victor and Freddie began gathering some old tires and equipment.
Gary looked at them.
Red turned toward him.
Red: "So, Gary."
"Have you ever fought someone?"
Gary thought about it.
Gary: "I..."
"I don't remember."
"Maybe?"
"Someone on the streets once tried to fight me."
Red raised an eyebrow.
Red: "Oh."
"So did you win?"
Gary shrugged.
Gary: "He was the same height as me."
"I mean..."
"He was another kid."
"I just took advantage of anything I could."
"Because fighting in the streets is different from fighting on a stage."
Red listened.
Gary continued.
Gary: "You're not fighting to win."
"You're fighting to survive."
Red stared at him.
His smile slowly widened.
Victor looked at Freddie.
Victor: "He's just like Red."
Freddie laughed.
Freddie: "Yeah."
"That's literally what Red used to tell us."
Gary looked surprised.
Gary: "Wait."
"Really?"
Red smiled.
Red: "If you know that much..."
"Then you don't even need to learn much."
He stepped closer.
Red: "Gary."
"Fight."
"Fight and fight."
"Because the best way to gain experience..."
"...Is to fight others."
"But you'll have to train."
"That way..."
"Once you're overwhelmed..."
Red paused.
His expression became serious.
Red: "Think about it."
"Your past."
"Your life."
"Anything."
"The thing that helps you keep going."
"The thing..."
"That thirst for revenge."
"The feeling of being overwhelmed."
"Feeling helpless."
"If you ever reach a point where you can't give up..."
"Don't."
"Keep going."
Red looked directly at Gary.
Red: "And you may..."
"...Experience it."
"The Awakening."
---
Present.
Gary's eyes widened.
The officer holding his waist suddenly felt something change.
Gary's hand moved.
He grabbed the back of the officer's head.
The officer's eyes widened.
"What—?"
Gary's elbow came crashing down.
BOOM!
The officer's head slammed into the ground.
The concrete beneath him cracked from the impact.
Gary immediately released him.
The remaining three A Rank officers were still holding onto him.
Gary turned toward them.
His expression had completely changed.
One of the officers tried to tighten his grip.
Gary grabbed him.
Then—
BOOM!
He slammed him into the ground.
Another officer attempted to attack from behind.
Gary turned around.
His fist connected with the officer's stomach.
THUD!
The man was sent flying backward.
The fourth officer immediately released Gary and stepped away.
He stared at him in disbelief.
"What the hell...?"
Gary slowly stood upright.
David and John immediately charged toward him.
Their fists came from opposite directions.
Gary's eyes shifted.
He moved.
Both punches missed.
David's eyes widened.
"What?"
John looked around.
"Where did he—"
Gary was already standing several meters away.
The two officers stared at him.
Something was different.
John narrowed his eyes.
"His aura..."
"It feels different."
David looked at Gary.
"What just happened?"
Gary stood silently.
His breathing had changed.
His entire body felt different.
The pain was still there.
The exhaustion.
The injuries.
Everything.
But something else had appeared.
Something deeper.
Something inside him had finally broken.
Gary slowly raised his head.
His right eye...
Had changed.
The color of his iris had turned crimson.
A faint red glow surrounded it.
Something resembling smoke slowly escaped from the corner of his eye.
David stared.
John's expression became serious.
"What..."
"...is that?"
Gary didn't answer.
He simply stood there.
His right eye continued glowing.
The crimson aura around him became stronger.
---
Daisy stared at Gary.
Her eyes widened.
Daisy: "What...?"
"What happened?"
Daniel and Mark stood beside her.
Behind them, Bob, Andrew and Coner slowly crawled across the ground.
They were still recovering from the injuries Gary had inflicted on them earlier.
Daisy continued staring at Gary.
Something about him had changed.
The way he stood.
The atmosphere around him.
Even his expression.
It was as though the person standing before them was no longer the same Gary they had been fighting moments ago.
Then—
A calm voice suddenly came from beside Daisy.
???: "It's called Awakening."
Daisy froze.
She immediately turned her head.
Someone was standing beside her.
A boy.
Someone she had never seen before.
Daisy: "Huh?"
"Who are you?"
"When did you get here?"
The boy looked toward her.
Jin: "Just a while ago."
Daisy blinked.
Daisy: "Oh..."
"But still..."
"Who are you?"
Before Jin could answer—
Mark suddenly stared at him.
His eyes widened.
Mark: "Wait."
"Aren't you Jin?"
Jin looked toward him.
Mark continued.
Mark: "From our school."
Daniel immediately turned toward him.
Daniel: "Wait..."
"So he's Jin?"
"The Jin from Ironfall?"
Mark nodded.
Mark: "Yeah."
"That's him."
He looked toward Gary.
Mark: "Gary is looking for him."
Daisy looked at Jin.
Then back toward Gary.
Daisy: "About that..."
"You said that strange eye glow is called Awakening?"
Jin nodded.
Jin: "Yeah."
"It's called Awakening."
"It's what happens when someone breaks through their own limits."
"Some people reach it through extreme training."
Daisy listened carefully.
Jin continued.
Jin: "Other times..."
"It's because they're overwhelmed."
"Emotionally."
"Physically."
"Mentally."
"When everything becomes too much..."
"A person may reach that point."
Daisy looked toward Gary's crimson eye.
Daisy: "So..."
"Awakening is basically pushing yourself beyond your limits?"
Jin: "You could say that."
"When a person awakens..."
"Their current power increases."
"And after that..."
"It becomes easier for them to grow stronger."
Daisy's eyes widened.
Daisy: "So..."
"Getting stronger after Awakening becomes easier?"
Jin nodded.
Jin: "Yes."
"But awakening itself..."
"Isn't easy."
Daisy looked back toward Gary.
She finally understood.
Daisy: "So that means..."
Jin finished her thought.
Jin: "Yeah."
"The Gary standing there right now..."
"Isn't on the same level as the Gary from before."
Daisy's eyes widened.
Jin stared at Gary.
Jin: "He has surpassed the S Rank tier."
---
David and John exchanged glances.
Neither of them wasted another second.
They charged.
David attacked from the front.
John moved from the side.
Gary didn't move.
The two S Rank officers closed in.
Then—
Gary's hands shot forward.
One hand grabbed David's face.
The other grabbed John's.
Both officers froze.
"What—?!"
Gary lifted them.
Then—
BOOOOOOM!!
He slammed both of them into the ground.
The concrete beneath their bodies shattered.
A crater formed beneath them.
Cracks spread across the courtyard.
Dust rose into the air.
Daniel and Mark stared in disbelief.
Daisy's mouth opened slightly.
Even the four A Rank officers who had been fighting Gary moments ago were frozen.
David slowly lifted his head.
His expression was one of pure disbelief.
David: "What the hell...?"
"He's much stronger now."
John's eyes widened.
John: "He's..."
"He's beyond the level of S Rank."
His voice became tense.
John: "This guy..."
"He's turned into a monster."
Gary slowly stood up.
He looked down at the two S Rank officers.
His right eye continued glowing crimson.
The strange red smoke-like aura slowly escaped from it.
Gary remained silent.
Then...
His gaze shifted.
Something had caught his attention.
Someone.
Gary's eyes moved past David.
Past John.
Past the other officers.
Past Daniel and Mark.
His eyes finally stopped.
Jin.
Gary stared at him.
For a moment...
Everything else seemed to disappear.
The police, the fight, The pain.
The entire school.
None of it mattered anymore.
Gary's expression changed.
He had finally found him.
The person he had been searching for all day.
Jin.
Gary slowly stepped forward.
David tried to move.
But Gary ignored him.
John attempted to get back up.
Gary didn't even look at him.
The two S Rank officers were no longer his concern.
Gary continued walking.
His crimson eye remained fixed on Jin.
Daisy looked between the two of them.
Daisy: "Wait..."
"Gary?"
Gary didn't respond.
He simply kept walking.
Jin watched him approach.
His expression remained calm.
Gary finally stopped.
The two stood several meters apart.
Jin slowly moved away from Daisy and the others.
He walked toward the center of the courtyard.
Gary followed him with his eyes.
Jin stopped.
He stood directly in front of Gary.
The two stared at each other.
Gary's crimson eye continued to glow.
The red smoke-like aura slowly escaped from it.
Jin remained completely calm.
Gary finally spoke.
Gary: "..."
Jin didn't say anything.
The wind moved through the courtyard.
Dust slowly settled around them.
Behind Gary...
David and John remained on the ground.
The four A Rank officers stood frozen.
Daniel and Mark watched silently.
Daisy couldn't understand what was happening.
And Jin...
Simply stood there.
Waiting.
Gary's eyes narrowed.
The person he had been searching for...
Was finally standing directly in front of him.
To be continued...
