This world is rotten. Like a putrid corpse of hope that we maggots dwell in. Sometimes it feels like God has forsaken us for the crimes we are yet to commit.
It was not always like this. Maybe it is just rosy glasses of fond childhood memories or plain old ignorance, but I remember things used to be better. Crime was on the decline, Japan was safe, the world was getting better...
Until one day when I was 7 or 8. A villain had attacked Chiba. I was watching the news, practically glued to the TV, excited !! with no fear in my heart or mind, and for one single reason: because I knew that he could show up and punch all the teeth out of this villain, and save the day, like he always does.
But that day something different happened. Something that 7 year old me never saw coming.
I saw my favourite hero lose for the first time.
Whole Japan saw their one true hero fall.
We saw the death of the symbol of peace.
We saw the death of All Might.
With his death, one tragedy after another kept coming. One after another, heroes started dying. The crime rate kept getting higher and higher with each year.
As if to declare the end of the world, quirks suddenly started to vanish. Being quirkless, which had once been looked down upon, became the new normal.
Strangely enough, despite the decline in quirks, quirk-related crimes became more vicious. The heroes that remained were barely able to tackle the organized crime. The police force was trying to keep the peace, but they too couldn't reach the darkest places of the city. They couldn't guard each alley, each crossroad.
When the world is falling, lowlifes think they are soaring the sky. Thugs with C-grade quirks think they are the shit.
they think they are superior to others. They start crossing lines they never should have crossed. They start thinking they are predators with a God-given right to prey on the weak.
And that is exactly when they meet the Hunter in green.
