The white void of the Forgotten Dragon Ruins trembled like it was afraid to exist.
Asterion stood motionless in the air.
Its silver wings unfolded slowly, each feather a folded dimension compressing light and gravity into razor edges.
"Final warning," it said.
"Release the fragment. You will not be penalized."
Lin Z laughed once.
It wasn't because it was funny.
It was because everything had gotten too absurd to respond to normally.
"You people always talk like that," he said. "Like we're supposed to feel lucky you're only deleting us a little bit."
Asterion tilted its head.
"You misunderstand. Deletion is absolute."
Scrappy stepped forward.
Small.
Flickering.
But his shadow… wasn't small anymore.
Behind him, something vast stirred like a memory trying to become real again.
SYSTEM NOTICE:

SCRAPPY / LOST SOVEREIGN FRAGMENT
Lin Z felt it through the bond.
Pain.
Not physical.
Existential.
Scrappy wasn't just being threatened.
He was being edited out of reality's definition. The Purge Wing didn't rush.
It erased distance.
One moment it was far away.
The next, its hand was already in front of Scrappy's face.
No energy buildup.
No warning.
Just a concept of "not allowed to exist" taking physical form.
Lin Z shouted, "SCRAPPY!"
But Scrappy moved first.
Not like a beast.
Like a reflex from something older than instinct.
His tiny claws struck forward.
Asterion's hand stopped.
For the first time
Something didn't proceed as defined.
Asterion's voice lowered.
"…You resisted."
Scrappy's body trembled violently.
Golden cracks spread across his scales again but this time they didn't heal.
They remembered. The void beneath them cracked open.
Not physically.
Conceptually.
And Lin Z saw it again
The colossal silhouette.
Chains of black stars.
A dragon so large it didn't fit into the idea of "large."
Scrappy's voice echoed inside Lin Z's mind again.
But it wasn't scared this time.
It was waking up.
"They sealed me… because I refused the rewrite."
Lin Z grit his teeth. "Rewrite what?"
Scrappy's eyes flared.
"Everything.""Confirmed," Asterion said.
"Fragment has awakened sovereignty residue."
Its wings shifted.
The air collapsed inward.
Reality itself bent toward Scrappy like gravity had chosen sides.
"Executing higher authorization."
SYSTEM ALERT:
COUNCIL OVERRIDE AUTHORITY: PURGE LEVEL 3
LOCAL REALITY SANITIZATION INITIATED
The world began to fade.
Not explode.
Not break.
Erase gently.
Like a page being wiped clean.
Lin Z felt his body lighten.
His thoughts slow.
His existence blur at the edges.
"Scrappy…" he whispered. "Do something."
For the first time
Scrappy didn't respond immediately.
Then
He looked at Lin Z.
And something ancient clicked into place.SYSTEM NOTICE:
WARNING – BOND LINK OVERLOAD
USER & BEAST SOULS PARTIALLY MERGING
Lin Z gasped.
His vision split.
He wasn't just seeing Scrappy anymore.
He was Scrappy.
He felt the chains.
The betrayal.
The endless sky collapsing on something that was never meant to be free.
And Scrappy felt Lin Z too.
The fear.
The stubbornness.
The refusal to kneel.
Two consciousnesses aligned.
Not master and beast.
Not owner and summon.
Something far more dangerous:
Equals.Scrappy inhaled.
But it wasn't fire.
It wasn't chaos.
It was permission.
Lin Z didn't speak.
But the bond did.
And together
They said:
"Remember what you are."
The ruins exploded outward in golden light.
Not destructive.
Reconstructive.
Asterion paused.
"…Impossible."
Scrappy's body grew.
Not larger.
More defined.
Each scale sharpening into layered reality.
His wings stretched not fully but enough to tear through space around him.
And then
He spoke aloud.
Not to Lin Z.
Not to the world.
To the Council above.
"I am not your fragment."The void split open above them.
Chains of black stars descended again but this time Scrappy didn't resist them.
He pulled on them.
Like reins.
Like authority.
Asterion took a step back.
For the first time.
"Authority inversion…?"
Scrappy lifted his head.
And the entire ruin responded.
The skull mountain outside the void began to kneel.
Not physically.
Metaphysically.
Reality itself bowed slightly.
Lin Z whispered, stunned:
"…He's overriding the system layer."
SYSTEM ERROR:

Asterion raised both arms.
"PURGE LIMIT BREACHED INITIATING FULL ERASURE EVENT"
But it was too late.
Scrappy vanished.Not teleportation.
Not speed.
Removal from definition.
He appeared behind Asterion like he had always been there.
His claws touched its back.
Softly.
Almost gently.
Then
He whispered:
"Sleep."
Asterion froze.
Its body didn't break.
It didn't explode.
It simply… stopped functioning.
Like a sentence that forgot how to continue.
The silver wings dimmed.
And the Purge Wing collapsed into floating fragments of light.
SYSTEM NOTICE:
EXECUTION UNIT STATUS: TERMINATED
CAUSE: UNKNOWN AUTHORITY OVERRIDE
Silence returned.The void stabilized slowly.
Lin Z fell to his knees, gasping.
Scrappy landed beside him.
Small again.
Tired again.
Sneezing again.
"Sneee"
A tiny flame popped out.
Lin Z stared at him. "You… just deleted a Council execution unit."
Scrappy blinked innocently.
As if he didn't understand what that meant.
But Lin Z understood something else.
The bond wasn't one-way anymore.
It never was.Far above reality, beyond the fractured layers of sky and system architecture
A massive structure rotated.
The Dragon Council Core.
And for the first time in millions of cycles
It displayed an error.
"Lost Sovereign Fragment… is no longer fragmentary."
A deeper voice responded from within the darkness:
"…Then it is waking."
The screen went black.
And somewhere inside it
Something opened its eyes.
