I walked faster and faster, my boots clicking against the floorboards, because I could still vividly feel the intense heat of his gaze lingering on my back as I walked away.

The very moment I rounded the corner, ensuring I was completely out of his line of sight, I leaned my back against the cool wall and tried to calm my wildly racing heart.
