As you may think there gotta be something off, apart from Karl simping. You gotta know something about the love that we can have… his wife would not be happy. The thing is, it was just an avatar of Zeus. the connection of the Sky with the Earth is found earlier in the Greek mythology Timeline, in the relation of Uranus with Gaia. When it comes to Zeus and Hera (and the other Gods), let's not forget that they're associated with the elements. Zeus with thunder electricity, Poseidon with surface motion (sea and earthquakes), Apollo with light and music, Artemis with the wildlife... and Hera with air. As in the air we breath.
Yang: I do not see how it can help reorganize everything for the future that I want to create with you. But at least, this gives hope. The thing is, this goes deeper than the early promise of creating a universe. That is to say that I have saved myself for the creation of our love. The more I dream of that day that we govern this omniverse, the more I crown you as my queen. The thing is, I was always hungry for love. Just once, I wanted to know what it was like to get my fill of it -- to be fed so much love I couldn't take any more. Just once. That means that Yours is the light by which my spirit's born: - you are my sun, my moon, and all my stars. In this sentence, you can rewrite the process of history. That is to say that you can shape it in the best way possible between the heart and the mind.
It made sense to them to marry the God of thunder with the Goddess of the air... Maybe because they're both on the sky? And in a storm you usually get both of them. A lot of the actions of the Gods of Greek mythology are based on the attributes and actions of their associated elements. Zeus rapes a lot because thunder hits things violently. Thus when a thunder hit a woman they'd say "Zeus hit her" or something similar.
The Heraion (Temple of Hera) in Argos and Samos had archeological EVIDENCE that the Hera cult or worship of Hera is one of the oldest cult then in existence. There is also evidence that the peak of Hera worship was at the time of dark ages (wherein there are little to no written accounts) and before she was seen as a Goddess married to Zeus, hence unfortunately we do not have much info about her cult and early worship.
Hera: this gotta be a joke. No one can defeat the avatar of this old man. This is no joke: I gotta see who did it. Maybe, it will help me in the future. The thing is, he really think he has more followers than me. The thing is, I still love that dumb guy. What else? She is so beautiful. You don't get tired of looking at her. You never worry if she is smarter than you: You know she is. She is funny without ever being mean. I love her. I am so lucky to love her, Van Houten. You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, old man, but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices. I hope she likes hers. He would say that to me. Even more, he would make love to me while saying it in repeated.
Early Hera worship sees her as I would describe "ultimate" or most powerful of the Gods, if any, in that pantheon (mainly in Samos, Argos, etc. though) and she also has epithets/symbols in relation to being a fertility Goddess (example: she was worshipped for horses, cows, and pomegranates is also one of her symbols, further in some less known myths she is related to or in command of the Horae (seasons) which brings forth the time to harvest or to plant).
You could see Hera in her old temple with her Z breast cups curly peerless smooth hair and ocean blue eyes that could captivate any God from other pantheons. The thing is, her robe was a white as the snow along with a beautiful skirt with the name of Zeus and the connection to marriage in her robe as means to an end. The cave supposed to be one of the main places of worship for her. The thing is, she would plan to marry more couples.
Heraion had votives or offerings of all sorts, evidence of her importance and the one in Samos was considered one of the biggest temple then in its time. :) Heraion also is a COMPLEX wherein Hera is worshipped in three parts: for Self, for family, and for the Polis (City).
Also, rather than mythological realism, some scholars characterize the marriage of Zeus and Hera, exactly as you've written and it is seen as the religion brought by Zeus (origins from western part of Greece if I'm not mistaken!!! **will confirm if I have time) conquering/joining that of religion/cult of Hera (which has origins from Indo-Mediterranean) When the wind or air would destroy someone's house, they'd be like "Hera destroyed his or her house". Poseidon is sometimes calm and sweet, but also has catastrophic mood changes, like the sea. Hera is giving us life like the air, but she can really ruin someone's life like a tornado can.
Once you realize that each God of Greek mythology controls the element he / she is associated with, and that the behaviors of the Gods in mythology are poetic descriptions of the behaviors of the associated elements, it will all become much clearer and make sense.
