They walked through the corridors; they were vast, carved from dark stone veined in red.
Their footsteps echoed.
No one spoke. From there, the forest is visible.
A vast stretch of forest
Unbroken and majestic
Raiken stopped.
"This land is quite majestic, alright," he said quietly. It is unfortunate that hunting is not allowed for outsiders.
His gaze shifted slightly.
"Not everything exists for conquest," he laughed
Lanchen felt Raiken's. But he kept quite.
Dian's jaw tightened.
But he said nothing.
They moved on.
The next space opened into a massive training ground.
Chains rattled.
Wings beat against the air.
Creatures, vast and powerful stood bound and restless.
Among them.
There were four dragons.
Its eyes burned as it watched them.
Raiken stepped forward, resting a hand lightly against its scaled neck.
It stilled instantly.
Controlled.
"We do not dominate," Raiken said.
"We understand."
Dian's gaze lingered on the beast.
Something unreadable flickered across his face; his heart was struck with lightning. He felt discomfrot.
They walked further.
Until the palace stood behind them—
and only the open sky remained ahead.
Raiken stopped.
Turned.
