The late afternoon sun hung high in the sky, casting long, golden shadows across the bustling streets of Konohagakure. At the massive wooden gates of the village, Team Kakashi finally arrived.
Naruto stood at the front desk of the chunin guard station, swiftly filling out the mission return log with steady, practiced strokes. The guards watched him with a mix of respect and curiosity, noting the heavy atmosphere surrounding the squad.
"All right, signing is done," Naruto said, capping the pen and turning to his team. His demeanor was all business. "Let's go and report to Auntie Tsunade immediately. After that, we can head our separate ways. We take the rooftops. Let's do this quickly and quietly; we are carrying two highly important culprits, and we cannot afford any civilian crowds or security risks."
Kakashi, Yamato, Sai, and Sakura all nodded in agreement. With a synchronized flicker, the five shinobi vanished from the gates, taking to the rooftops and blurring past the civilian districts as they made a beeline for the Hokage's tower.
Moments later, the doors to the Hokage's office swung open.
Tsunade sat behind her massive desk, surrounded by towers of paperwork. Jiraiya was leaning against the wall near the window, while Shizune stood dutifully by Tsunade's side holding a stack of folders.
Tsunade looked up, setting her pen down as the squad filed into the room. "So, you're finally back. What happened? How was the mission?"
Naruto stepped forward, taking point as the acting Captain. His voice was calm, clinical, and completely devoid of his usual boisterous energy.
"On day one, we reached the rendezvous point near the Tenchi Bridge and set up camp. On day two, Yamato disguised himself as Sasori to extract information from the Akatsuki contact. The plan was to verify the route, secure the informant, and return to Konoha quickly. However, the informant was Kabuto Yakushi, and he had already broken free from Sasori's mind-control jutsu. Almost immediately, Orochimaru appeared to ambush who he thought was Sasori."
Naruto paused for a brief second, his blue eyes hardening. "I quickly engaged Orochimaru to draw his attention. I pushed my chakra cloaks to five tails, and ultimately to six tails. At the end of the battle... I killed Orochimaru, alongside his true snake spirit."
The office went completely, suffocatingly silent.
Shizune dropped the folders in her hands. They hit the floor with a loud smack. Jiraiya froze, his eyes widening in absolute shock, while Tsunade's breath hitched, her hands gripping the edge of her desk.
Orochimaru... was dead?
Before they could even process the monumental weight of that statement, Kakashi stepped forward to seamlessly continue the report.
"To add to the Captain's report," Kakashi stated, his lone eye focused entirely on Tsunade. "When Naruto leaped forward to engage Orochimaru, we all knew he was the only one who could go toe-to-toe with the Sannin. Naruto gave a direct order: Kabuto was not to leave that bridge alive. I followed those orders and immediately engaged Kabuto in close-quarters combat, with Yamato and Sai acting as my flankers, and Sakura hanging back for emergency medical support."
Kakashi pulled a sealing scroll from his vest. "I severed Kabuto's right arm during the skirmish. Once he was incapacitated, we captured him using a paralyzing sealing tag that Naruto provided. Kabuto Yakushi is currently sealed within this scroll."
Tsunade slowly sat back in her chair, trying to process the sheer efficiency and brutality of the team standing before her.
"After Naruto dealt with Orochimaru and we secured Kabuto," Kakashi continued, stepping up to the desk and placing a different, smaller scroll on top of Tsunade's paperwork. "We took a brief rest and proceeded to Orochimaru's nearest hideout, as we had reason to believe Sasuke Uchiha was being held there. Under Naruto's orders, we split into two teams to search for clues. This scroll contains the coordinates and data on several of Orochimaru's other hidden bases that we managed to copy from his laboratory."
"And Sasuke?" Jiraiya finally spoke up, his voice hushed and serious.
"Suddenly, we heard a massive explosion," Kakashi explained. "We rushed to the epicenter and found that the roof of the subterranean base had been completely blown open. Sasuke Uchiha was standing at the edge of the crater. When he realized that Orochimaru was dead and Kabuto was captured... he went into shock. And then, he went on the offensive."
Kakashi looked over at Naruto, a visible gleam of immense pride and awe in his eye.
"Sasuke attempted to wipe us out using what appeared to be an ultimate, nature-manipulated Lightning jutsu. It was a localized atmospheric strike—nearly impossible to dodge. But Naruto stepped forward and executed a technique he called Wind Style: Wind Domain."
Jiraiya raised an eyebrow. "Wind Domain?"
"It was a hyper-pressurized, omnidirectional wind barrier," Kakashi elaborated. "It completely swallowed and deflected Sasuke's lightning strike in a matter of seconds. It was... quite frankly, one of the most impressive defensive feats I have ever seen. After that, we overwhelmed Sasuke in a coordinated strike, applied a chakra suppression seal, and captured him."
All eyes in the room slowly turned to the blonde teenager standing at the center of the office.
Naruto simply shrugged, scratching the back of his head as if they were discussing the weather. "It was no big deal," Naruto said casually. "It was just an experimental test jutsu I've been working on for a while. I just needed to pump a bit more chakra into the shape manipulation than usual to ground the lightning. Honestly, there was no problem with it at all."
Author's Note
Hey everyone!
I need a little help from you all. Since I'm not much of an artist, I'd really appreciate it if you could share or comment pictures of outfits you think would suit the characters.
I'm especially looking for outfit ideas for:
Naruto
Hinata
Ino
Temari
And any other characters you'd like to see redesigned.
Feel free to post as many references as you want. Casual clothes, mission outfits, formal wear, seasonal outfits, or anything else you think fits their personalities.
Your suggestions will really help me visualize the characters and make the story even better.
Thanks for all the support, and I can't wait to see your ideas!
