It was just past six in the evening, the end of the workday. Wang Chuan walked to his Mercedes in the plastic surgery center's underground parking garage, and as he opened the door, a voice sounded by his ear.
"No longer a department head, and already so eager to clock out?"
Wang Chuan looked toward the voice and saw Liu Jin walking over.
"The surgery's finished, and the other patients are recovering well. I don't have to deal with the department's mess anymore, so naturally, I'm out of here the second the day is done."
Wang Chuan explained, then added with a dramatic flair, "If I'd known how freeing it is to not be in charge, how pleasant work could be, I would've resigned years ago."
As he spoke, Liu Jin pulled open the passenger door and slid inside.
This caught Wang Chuan a bit by surprise. He quickly got into the car.
"Mr. Liu, is there something you wanted to discuss?"
"Or…?"
