For a while, she would go to Wan's place in the afternoons after she finished her live streams.

She would learn the techniques for knitting a scarf from Wan, one step at a time.

She started by practicing with balls of yarn, but her clumsy hands felt like they didn't belong to her; it was as if her brain had stalled and she'd lost all control. Jiangg Yao managed to tolerate it at first, but she grew increasingly impatient. She had never been one to persevere through difficulty, and after a few frustrating attempts, the thought of giving up became more and more tempting.

But she persevered. After tossing aside a tangled mess of yarn, she would just pick it up again the next day.
