Lazy morning light filtered through the window, falling upon the comforter.
January 1st. The first day of the new year.
Jiangg Ning stirred from her slumber. She felt disoriented for a moment before her unfocused gaze slowly sharpened. She closed her eyes, dozing for another moment, then sat up.
Beside her, Jiangg Yao was still sleeping in.
Jiangg Ning usually woke up at seven in the morning and went to bed at eleven at night. Her biological clock was exceptionally precise.
In the entire past year, the times she had slept in could be counted on one hand, and each of those occasions had something to do with Chen Yuan.
After sitting up, the first thing she did was move her little sister's dead-weight leg off of her.
As for Jiangg Yao, one of her legs was still draped over her sister. Half of her fair cheek was buried in the pillow, and she was lying on her stomach.
She was sleeping so soundly it seemed like the sky could fall without disturbing her.
