The Miner looked at the reply that finally came through on his phone. 'Shameless,' he cursed under his breath, but his actions betrayed him as he sent back a cheeky OK emoji.
"Hang in there, men! The Black Wolf Mercenaries are almost here."
He'd originally thought the Oasis Pirates were just after Mine Number Seven. He never expected them to get so greedy they'd try to take his largest asset, the Pink Diamond Mine. That crossed a line.
So, he ordered an all-out attack on the Oasis Pirates, determined to reclaim both mines.
But the Chameleons from the Eastern Highlands were too powerful. They were practically fighting maniacs, routing his forces at every turn. It was clear they were about to suffer devastating losses.
His only option was to ask Black for help. Among the five major mercenary groups, his relationship with Black was relatively amicable. Aside from a dispute last year when they snatched a mine he had his eye on, there was no blood feud between them.
