Just as Lin Li finished buying strawberry seeds online, Su Yue padded out of her bedroom in slippers. His eyes landed on her, and he noticed she was holding one hand behind her back.
"Hee hee..." Su Yue beamed as she came and sat on the sofa next to Lin Li. Then, she extended the hand she'd been hiding behind her back.
Lin Li saw a small mahogany box resting on Su Yue's fair palm. "Is this that interesting thing you called me about, the one you said you wanted to show me?"
"Mhm."
"What's in the box?"
Su Yue gave him a mysterious smile, then opened the small mahogany box and turned it to face him.
A ten-centimeter-long, entirely golden, exquisitely crafted, and lifelike metal feather lay quietly in the small mahogany box.
"Is this feather made of gold?" Lin Li asked, looking at the golden feather in the small box.
