There was a moment of silence on the set. Both Naomi Kenway and the other actor were a bit bewildered.
Naomi Kenway was the first to speak. "What are you talking about? You're not in this scene."
Clementine Coleman declared heroically, "So what if I'm not in this scene? I can't stand to watch you pull these bullying tricks. The fact that I'm not in the scene is all the more reason for me to intervene!"
Naomi Kenway's lip twitched. 'For a second there,' she thought, 'I really believed Clementine Coleman stepped right out of a TV drama.'
The actor rehearsing with Naomi Kenway realized what was happening and quickly wiped the tears from her face. "Miss Clementine Coleman, you've misunderstood."
"Don't be afraid. Don't let her threaten you." Clementine Coleman patted her chest, declaring chivalrously, "I'll definitely protect you!"
Naomi Kenway said calmly, "Clementine Coleman, we're running lines."
"Running lines...?" she repeated, a beat behind.
