The surrounding scenery grew even more desolate. Not even a single plant could be seen, only endless yellow sand and gravel.
Suddenly, the hovercar came to a stop.
"What's wrong?"
Li Chang'an asked.
"Captain, there's someone up ahead!"
Bai Lin said, pointing forward.
Li Chang'an looked ahead and saw a group of figures in the distance.
Their attire was a mismatched collection; some wore tattered clothes, others crude armor. They held various weapons in their hands, looking like a ragtag mob.
"Looks like a group of mercenaries!"
Shen Qiuyue said.
"Mercenaries? What are they doing out here?"
Sun Yang asked, confused.
"No idea. Let's observe them first before we do anything."
Li Chang'an said.
The hovercar slowly approached the group of mercenaries.
The mercenaries noticed the hovercar's approach as well. They all turned their heads, watching them warily.
"Stop the car!"
A man who looked like their leader shouted.
