"You..." Qin Mei glared at Jie Jingchen. "How could you just swallow it?"
Jie Jingchen said nothing. He leaned against the headboard, riding out the wave of pain. After some time, the agony subsided. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and noticed Qin Mei standing by the bed in her pajamas. He frowned. "Aren't you cold? Get back in bed."
Qin Mei said nothing, ignoring him. She bent down, picked up the basin, and carried it to the bathroom.
"Qin Mei," Jie Jingchen called out.
"Don't rush me. I'll be right out." Qin Mei rinsed out the foot basin and put it away before coming out of the bathroom.
Qin Mei opened the cabinet and rummaged through a pile of medicine. A moment later, she returned to the bedside. Her expression was grim, but her voice was soft. "Open up."
Jie Jingchen stared at her, stunned for a few seconds, then obediently opened his mouth.
