Qin Mei gave Jie Jingchen's hair a quick, rough toweling, then tossed the towel at him. She hopped off the bed and grabbed the backpack she had already packed.
Qin Mei had come to Xiangjiang in such a rush that she hadn't brought anything with her. But she was prepared for the trip back to Huaxia, with a bag stuffed to the brim.
Jie Jingchen chuckled as he watched her. 'She really is in a hurry.' He picked up the towel from the bed, then got up to get dressed.
A little over ten minutes later, Jie Jingchen was immaculately dressed, carrying a large bag in one hand and leading Qin Mei downstairs with the other.
Qin Mei had thought her grandfather and grandmother would lead everyone out to see them off for a scene of lingering goodbyes. But in the end, only the butler was there. Even Jing Qi didn't make an appearance.
'It's better this way, skipping all the emotional goodbyes.'
Jie Jingchen helped Qin Mei into the helicopter. He got in next, followed by the butler.
