An old Daoist, holding a Banner and a Shaking Bell, ambled over, muttering to himself.
Although the old Daoist's robes were covered in patches, he seemed to be a tidy person, as his clothes were free of dust.
"Madam, please wait. Would you like me to read the fortune of the child in your womb?" the old Daoist asked, stepping in their way.
Su Liyan and her mother ignored him and kept walking.
"Don't you want to know if it's a boy or a girl? Or if it's human or..." The old Daoist trailed off suggestively.
Su Liyan's mother didn't believe in any of it. After all, from her experience, this man was nothing more than a common street swindler!
But upon hearing that, Su Liyan stopped in her tracks. She looked back and asked, "Old Sir, how do you read fortunes?"
In truth, Su Liyan didn't believe in such street tricks either. Normally, she wouldn't even bother to acknowledge such a person, let alone give them a second glance.
