Hua Dingzong wasn't blind.
He could tell from his daughters' conversation and expressions that they were hiding a secret, one that might even involve Song Ding.
All sorts of speculations flashed through Hua Dingzong's mind.
Before he could make sense of it all, Hua Manman spoke up first.
"My sister wants to break off the engagement because the one Song Ding truly loves is me. She's probably just bitter, so she chose to call it off in a fit of pique."
Hua Dingzong thought he had misheard.
He asked in disbelief.
"What did you say? Who is Song Ding in love with?"
Hua Qingqing said urgently, "Father, don't listen to her nonsense! This has nothing to do with her!"
Like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, Hua Manman immediately bristled.
"You're calling me a liar? Every word I've said is the truth! If Father doesn't believe me, you can call Song Ding over. I'll confront him face-to-face!"
Seeing her conviction, Hua Dingzong couldn't help but believe her a little.
