Inside the operating room.
"So, what's the verdict?" Chen Yu asked, looking at Jamie on the operating table.
'We're all doctors. Why is he dragging this out?'
Jamie shot Chen Yu a speechless glare. 'If you were the one on this table, I'm sure I wouldn't be dawdling either,' he thought.
Gritting his teeth, Jamie said, "Spinal anesthesia. I need to supervise you to make sure you don't do anything crazy."
"Jamie, are you sure? With spinal, you'll have to lie flat for twelve hours," said the young man across the operating table with a smile.
His name was William Ackman.
Born in Germany, he had immigrated to the United States as a child. He was a classmate of Jamie's in medical school and later specialized in orthopedics.
With his tall, sturdy build, he was a natural when it came to handling bones.
But his talent was limited, and he'd never really made a name for himself. When Jamie heard that Chen Yu was looking to hire another doctor, he recommended him.
