Cecilia Adler was running late, so she didn't have time to go to the Quillan family's home. Instead, she turned around and headed to the restaurant to have Master Chapman sample the steamed fish and fish soup.
Master Chapman tasted each dish, nodding repeatedly. "Not bad at all. Where did you buy this fish?"
Cecilia Adler said, "I can get my hands on several hundred catties of fish like this. Do you want them?"
"Several hundred catties? Our restaurant has its own stock; we don't need that much. But we can take it. However, regarding the price, we can't pay market prices. We'd have to go with the wholesale rate, thirty-five cents a catty."
A chill went through Cecilia Adler. "At such a low price, I might as well sell it at the street market."
"And who would dare to buy it?"
