In the afternoon, she slipped out while Lucas Lee was taking his nap. As she left, the Maotai in the display cabinet caught her eye. After a moment's thought, she took it with her. 'When you ask for a favor, a gift is necessary to smooth the way.'
Cecilia Adler first went to the market to check the day's prices for various vegetables and seafood.
Afterward, she carried the gift straight to the back door of the restaurant. She waited for about fifteen minutes before Master Chapman appeared, and she promptly stuffed the bottle of liquor into his hands. "Master Chapman, I'm so grateful you took my products last time. You really saved me when I was in a bind. This is just a small token of my appreciation."
