Cecilia Adler chuckled. "When should we get Master Chapman to come inspect the goods?"
"I'll go get him right now."
A short while later, Master Chapman arrived.
The fish were frozen on the outside but still soft on the inside. They'd even jump when dropped on the ground.
Master Chapman ordered his men to weigh the fish immediately and put them in water to revive them; the taste is better when they're fresh. "Two hundred and eighty-three pounds. That's about right. Plus the two fish from last time at eleven pounds, making a total of two hundred ninety-four pounds. That comes to seven hundred and thirty-five dollars. Hold on, I'll go get the money for you."
Cecilia Adler's voice trembled with excitement. "Great."
When she held the heavy envelope, her eyes shone like stars.
'This is all money?'
'We hit the jackpot!'
She did a quick count. "The amount's right." She tucked the envelope into her pocket.
