Vivian Lee was green with envy. 'Why didn't my in-laws dress me up like this in my last life?'
She forced a smile. "You're here. Your outfit is beautiful. Where did you get it?"
"A gift from my mother-in-law," Cecilia Adler said.
Mrs. Flynn didn't believe her and sneered, "What mother-in-law has that much spare cash to buy a whole new outfit for her daughter-in-law? And it even fits you perfectly."
"Mine, obviously," Cecilia Adler retorted. "And from your tone, I take it you won't be buying Vivian any new clothes. Oh, Vivian," she sighed, "if only you'd listened to Dad and let him find you a match from a family of equal standing, you could've had anything you wanted. But you insisted on choosing *him*. I really don't know what to do with you."
She put on a pained expression.
Vivian Lee nearly ground her teeth to dust.
'She's not giving Felix Flynn a shred of dignity in front of everyone, and she's even mocking his mother while she's at it.'
