Cecilia Adler glanced at the sky. "Taking a break in broad daylight? Let's help Old Mrs. Jocelyn take these things back first."
Old Mrs. Jocelyn said, "When we get there, tell them you're my granddaughter and that you don't approve of me and him."
"He won't get vindictive and retaliate against you, will he?"
"I bet he wouldn't dare." Old Mrs. Jocelyn wasn't worried in the slightest. She continued her tirade, "That goddamned old geezer! His wife is barely cold in her grave and he's already looking for someone new. The nerve! He probably just wants me to do chores at his place..."
Smiling as she listened, Cecilia Adler and Ian Quincy followed Old Mrs. Jocelyn's directions, heading to the next village to return the local specialties.
Before they had even gone a mile, they ran right into her uncle's family.
