"It's no bother," Grandma said. "It's not like I've never met him. He's busy, so let him be."

Jim Quincy chimed in, "Let's eat first. Make yourselves at home, don't stand on ceremony."

"Alright."

After dinner.

Cecilia Adler was chatting with Grandma when, around eight o'clock, Ian Quincy knocked on the door from outside. "Cecilia, I'm home."

"The door's unlocked. Come on in."

Ian Quincy pushed the door open, stepped inside, and politely greeted the old woman. "Good evening, Grandma. Dad told me you're leaving Valoria this Friday. I was held up with something today, so please excuse my discourtesy."

Grandma stared at him, a strange look on her face.

With those glasses on, not only did his aura become more refined and gentle, but his speech had grown more formal too. "Ian, you've been doing a lot of reading lately, haven't you?"

Ian Quincy caught her meaning and smiled faintly. "I have indeed been learning quite a bit."
