Jim Quincy was very disappointed. After all these years of living together, he felt he'd done his best for them. And now they didn't need him? They were going to split up? "Fine! I'll make the arrangements for you."
Mrs. Quincy disagreed. "Arrange what? Isn't it better for the family to live together? If Justin and Christal leave, won't the children have to go with them? Can they take good care of them?" She added, "The children should stay with us. It'll be more convenient for the nanny to look after them."
'If the children weren't home, what was the point of the two of them, old as they were, rattling around in such a big house?'
When Mr. Russell heard that, his confidence instantly returned.
'They were so quick to talk about divorce; I thought they were willing to give up the children.'
Now he was determined to get some validation from Old Quincy.
He said, "What kind of children live with their grandparents instead of their parents?"
