She was waiting for the day they hit rock bottom, the day she would finally put an end to her own foolishness.
She got into her Porsche, took out her phone again, and called Marlon Marshall. "Honey, I'm coming to pick you up from the university."
Marlon slammed on the brakes when he heard her.
"Just wait for me at home. I'll be back soon."
"But I'm almost at the university already. That's that. Bye-bye."
She quickly hung up and drove toward the university.
Marlon tossed his phone aside and said to Carol Young in the passenger seat, "Get out. I have to turn around. My wife is heading to the university gate."
"It's fine, just take me with you. We can say we ran into each other by chance."
"No! Get out!"
Carol Young had no choice but to reluctantly get out of the car, looking thoroughly resentful.
Watching Marlon's car drive away, she grew irritated. With a sudden resolve, she hailed a taxi and followed him.
