Seth Quinn's eyes glinted for a moment, then grew calm again. He spoke naturally, "Cherie is still in the recovery phase, so he's bound to sleep a lot more. It's perfectly normal for him to fall asleep from time to time.
"If you go see him now, he'll get all excited. Then if he can't sleep tonight, it'll just disrupt his rest, which isn't good for his recovery.
"Let's go tomorrow. It'll make no difference. I'll take you first thing in the morning, all right?"
His voice was soft, as if he were soothing her disappointment.
'But he knew perfectly well that he hadn't had time to get things ready. How could he possibly let her go over there?'
'Actually, Seth Quinn thought Rowan Linden was right. Maybe he really should tell her the truth sooner—that Cherie didn't have a congenital heart defect, and that he wasn't some poor kid abandoned by his parents.'
