When the four men saw Sarah Shelby, they all called out in unison, "Young Madam."
Sarah Shelby just glanced at them before pulling Clara Grant out the door.
Downstairs, a car was already waiting. The driver stood by the open door, bowing slightly to Sarah Shelby. "Please, Young Madam."
Sarah Shelby shrugged. Since Ewan Stratton had gone to the trouble of sending a car and driver, it saved her the hassle of taking her own car.
She linked her arm with Clara Grant's and jutted her chin toward the car. "Let's go."
With that, she started to get into the car, but the four burly men reached out and blocked Clara Grant. They didn't say a word, but their message was crystal clear: Clara was not getting in the car.
Sarah Shelby, who was leaning down to get into the car, froze when she saw Clara being blocked. She straightened up and asked, "What is the meaning of this? Clara is my friend. Can't my friend ride in the car with me?"
