The more he thought about it, the more terrified he became. His heart pounded with dread, and he couldn't stop himself from pulling her into a tight embrace.
A part of him wanted to scold her for not thinking of her own safety when danger struck. But he couldn't bring himself to say a word. Instead, he just held her close, trying to soothe the overwhelming fear in his own heart.
Nestled in his arms, Clara's heart gradually began to settle. 'It's a good thing he got here in time to save me,' she thought. 'Otherwise, I might have never seen him again.'
Cedric Grant finally snapped out of his daze. He rushed over to the two of them, still locked in their embrace, and asked, "Clara, are you okay?"
Only then did Clara remember they weren't alone. A wave of self-consciousness washed over her, and she pulled away from Seth's embrace. Using his hand for support, she got to her feet and shook her head at Cedric. "I'm fine."
