Nanny Vaughn's eyes suddenly darkened. "It was you! You colluded with that little wench Mary. You two conspired to drive me out!"
Now that things had reached this point and all of Aurora's goals had been achieved, there was no reason to deny it. "That's right."
Seeing Aurora admit it so frankly, Nanny Vaughn's face instantly flushed red with rage. "It really was you! I'm going to find the matriarch and tell her I was framed by a brat like you!"
Aurora chuckled. "Nanny Vaughn, you're getting on in years. Is your mind getting a little rusty? Did you really think Grandma couldn't tell that Mary was setting you up? So why didn't she do anything about it? When it comes down to it, it's because you betrayed Grandma, and that's the real reason she's sending you away. If you want to go tell her that I conspired with Mary to frame you, go right ahead. I won't stop you. But do you honestly think she'll believe you?"
Nanny Vaughn shuddered at Aurora's words.
