Damien Valerius lounged on the sofa, his head tilted back as he lazily glanced at Bell. He made no move to get up.
Ever the professional butler, Bell showed no reaction to Damien Valerius's stare. He maintained his practiced smile, bowing slightly. "Master Damien, it wouldn't do to keep Master Valerius waiting."
The words weren't insistent, but they served as a well-intentioned reminder.
A casual smile touched Damien Valerius's lips. He finally rose and followed Bell toward Master Valerius's study.
Bell led Damien Valerius to the study, where two stern-faced bodyguards stood watch at the door.
"Master Damien is here to see Master Valerius," Bell announced to the bodyguards.
The men looked Damien Valerius over before nodding respectfully and opening the door. "Master Damien, please go in."
Sean Carter, who was following behind Damien Valerius, was stopped by the two bodyguards. "Master Valerius will only see Master Damien. No one else is permitted inside."
