Aurora Sterling listened quietly to the conversation inside, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
She hadn't even officially started school, but she'd already been branded an "unruly older sister." It was a world ruled by first impressions. It looked like Aurora Sterling would have to work even harder to shed that title.
Inside the office, the teachers' conversation continued.
"Miller, can you please stop making things harder for me? I'm already so frustrated. I have no idea why the school had to push that huge troublemaker onto me. As if I didn't have enough to deal with already?" Donovan sighed. "Why even give a kid who has no interest in studying a chance? Just because her family has money, she gets to squander our limited academic resources? Well, I'm no pushover. If that girl doesn't take her studies seriously, I'll be the first one to kick her out. I won't let her run wild and act like a tyrant in my classroom!"
