Susan Sterling's words made Mrs. Sterling's expression falter, leaving her momentarily speechless.
Bernard Sterling couldn't bring himself to be as caustic as Susan Sterling, but his expression was just as grim. "Timothy, look at this fine mess your family's caused. Now your Third Great-Uncle and I are getting dragged into it. You have no idea how dangerous that was just now. Someone nearly died!"
The great-uncle grunted coldly, and it was hard to tell if it was out of anger, physical distress, or both.
Timothy Sterling gave his great-uncle an apologetic look. He knew Bernard Sterling was exaggerating. While his great-uncle had nearly had a medical episode, it hadn't been a life-or-death situation. Besides, at the end of the day, Aurora was a victim in this too. It was incredibly frustrating for her to be so misunderstood by her great-uncles' families.
"Uncle, this is all a misunderstanding. That stuff online is all nonsense. Our Aurora would never do something like that…"
