"What are you talking about, Joy! Don't say things like 'divorce.' Sharon is my daughter too, so I'm also responsible for her mistakes! How could I possibly divorce you over something this minor!" Timothy Sterling said, wrapping his arms around Joy, clearly upset that she had brought up divorce so casually.
Aurora Sterling raised an eyebrow. 'Now that Joy is crying, this has all become a 'minor issue' in her father's eyes?'
Joy Dalton, a tear-streaked mess, shoved Sharon Sterling a few times, looking for all the world like a mother utterly disappointed in her daughter. "Go and apologize to your sister and the elders! What are you standing there in a daze for? Hurry up and apologize! Beg for their forgiveness!"
Shoved by Joy, Sharon Sterling stumbled and turned to face Aurora and the elders. Through tear-filled eyes, she looked at her two great-uncles and their families. Swallowing her indignation, she choked out in a muffled voice, "I'm sorry... I was wrong..."
