Sharon Sterling stayed in Joy Dalton and Timothy Sterling's room until Timothy returned. In front of him, the mother and daughter once again put on their show of a heartbroken mother scolding her daughter.
Ultimately, Timothy Sterling caved in the face of Sharon Sterling's tearful apology. He refrained from saying anything more cruel, merely telling her to remember this lesson and never make the same mistake again.
Sharon Sterling left her parents' room with red-rimmed eyes. All the way back to her own room, she kept her head down and sobbed, looking pitiful and utterly repentant. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought she was truly sorry and afraid.
But the instant Sharon Sterling got back to her room and opened the door, her expression changed completely.
"Why are you in my room?" Sharon Sterling stood in the doorway, glaring resentfully at Aurora Sterling, who was sitting at her vanity.
