In the car, Aurora Sterling was in low spirits. She stared blankly out the window without a word, a dazed look on her face.
"Do you hate being with me that much?" Damien Valerius had just finished a call from his grandfather's assistant. When he hung up, he noticed the preoccupied Aurora Sterling.
The man's deep voice sounded beside her, snapping Aurora out of her trance. She turned her head and met Damien Valerius's eyes, which were as deep as obsidian.
"I'm a little worried about my grandma," Aurora Sterling replied, her voice laced with anxiety. For some reason, she couldn't shake a feeling of unease. The image of Mrs. Sterling waving goodbye to her kept replaying in her mind.
Hearing Aurora's words, a glint appeared in Damien Valerius's eyes. He didn't respond to her, instead pulling out his phone and calling Mrs. Sterling directly.
