"Miss Sterling, while you and the Boss were hiding in the bathroom, what was his condition like?" Sean Carter smoothly changed the subject.
Aurora Sterling thought for a moment. "At first, his condition was steadily worsening, but after I gave him some water, he seemed to get a little better."
"Water?" Sean Carter blinked. "Are you saying you just gave the Boss some water?"
"Mm-hmm." Aurora Sterling nodded with certainty. "He wanted water, so I gave him some from the tap. After that, his breathing clearly eased up, and his complexion wasn't as pale."
"Are you sure it was just plain water?" Sean Carter asked again.
"Yes, it was just plain tap water." Aurora Sterling didn't understand why Sean Carter was pressing the issue. 'It was just water I got from the sink faucet,' she thought. 'Just plain water.'
