"Things are a little complicated. After digging deeper, the police uncovered some other issues involving Hector Vaughn, so he'll probably be going to prison for a very long time," Aurora said nonchalantly.
"What? That's unbelievable! Hector was one of the most popular guys at our school. What else could he have done?" Rose was utterly shocked. He was, after all, the boy she once had a crush on and even pursued.
Evidently, Rose had been lucky. Her luck stemmed from knowing the difference between what she should and shouldn't do. Her attitude toward Hector had always been one of mere admiration; she never wanted to get seriously involved with him.
However, Aurora mused, if Rose had gotten seriously involved with Hector, he wouldn't have dared to use the same tactics on her that he'd used on Sylvia. 'After all, for a wealthy heiress like Rose, wouldn't it be child's play to take him down?'
