Joanna Jacobs smiled self-deprecatingly, then pushed open the office door.
To her surprise, the first person she saw upon entering the office wasn't Damien Valerius, but Aurora Sterling, who was sitting on the sofa in the lounge area.
Joanna Jacobs looked at Aurora Sterling, her expression flickering for a moment before quickly returning to normal. Smiling, she walked over to stand across from Damien Valerius. "What brings you here to work today? I was pretty surprised when I couldn't find you in my office."
Damien Valerius lazily raised an eyebrow. He leaned back with his hands laced behind his head and his legs crossed on the desk, the very picture of relaxation. "If it weren't for keeping those people from getting suspicious, I really couldn't have been bothered to come in today."
"I've never seen such a laid-back CEO," Joanna Jacobs said as she sat down in the chair across from Damien Valerius.
Damien Valerius smiled. "With you here, I have nothing to worry about."
