"You let go on purpose, didn't you?"
Julia Keane, enduring the pain racking her body, looked at Nancy Nash, who was glaring daggers at her. She was completely baffled. Nancy had clearly been standing steadily a moment ago, so how could she have suddenly lost her balance and dragged Julia down the stairs with her?
Now, everyone had seen their embarrassing tumble down the stairs. And before Julia could say a word, Nancy Nash launched a preemptive strike, accusing *her* of being careless!
'It's true; I *did* try to trip Aurora Sterling and make her take an embarrassing tumble down the stairs. But I still don't understand how she could be so strong and react so quickly. Not only did I fail to trip her, but she kicked my foot so hard it's still throbbing with pain.'
'However, I'm absolutely certain of one thing: even though I was unsteady, if Nancy Nash had just held onto me when I grabbed her arm, we wouldn't have fallen down the stairs.'
