"Laura Lowell, you two are really too much. Could you spare a thought for the feelings of a single woman like me?"
To be honest, Laura hadn't been thinking about it much. She just suddenly felt... Aiden Shaw was wonderful. She was so, so lucky to have met him.
Aiden Shaw smiled and affectionately rubbed his head against the girl's, then turned to face Hannah Hale. He spoke lightly, "Don't you have a surgery in forty minutes? No need for pre-op preparations?"
'Heh. Dr. Shaw, you really go to bat for your own, don't you?'
Hannah Hale pursed her lips, unafraid. With Laura Lowell as her get-out-of-jail-free card, she no longer had any reason to fear Aiden Shaw.
"Dr. Shaw, I think I'll sit down and have a bite to eat before I go. You wouldn't mind, would you?"
"I mind very much. Go to work now."
Aiden Shaw spoke with a casual air, then pulled out a chair and sat beside Laura Lowell. He ladled her a bowl of congee and said, "Eat up. I'll take you for a check-up in a bit."
