Laura Lowell turned and glared at Zachary Redgrave. "I'm out of milk."
"I already bought some for you this afternoon. Pretty thoughtful of me, right? Now, try not to get too choked up."
'This idiot is definitely doing this on purpose.'
Aiden Shaw sat down in the seat next to Laura, one arm resting casually on the dining table. His long, slender fingers tapped idly against the tabletop.
Zachary Redgrave shot Aiden Shaw a provocative sneer. 'Sure, he's her boyfriend, but I'm her best guy friend.'
'Why should I have to take a backseat just because he showed up?'
'Besides, I'm still pissed about what happened earlier today.'
Laura emerged from the kitchen and handed a bowl and chopsticks to Aiden Shaw. Then she set the milk on the table. "Go on, drink up."
"Open it for me."
Zachary jerked his chin toward the milk on the table, looking for all the world like some great lord.
