Aiden Shaw's final declaration was unbelievably powerful.
"Dr. Shaw, may I ask how you and Laura Lowell met?"
"How long have you two been dating? Do you have any plans to get married?"
"Chairman Shaw just personally confirmed that Laura Lowell is the Shaw family's future daughter-in-law. Does this mean wedding bells are just around the corner?"
The reporters in the audience brandished their microphones, firing off questions in a relentless barrage.
"Excuse me, those are all private matters and we're not at liberty to comment on them. Today's press conference is now over."
Jolene Joyce said politely into the microphone.
Even though the reporters had countless more questions, they didn't dare block the path of the Shaws. They all knew better and made way.
Aiden Shaw led Laura Lowell by the hand out of the banquet hall. He turned and said, "Mom, Dad, you two can head back first."
"Well, don't forget to come home for dinner tonight."
Marian Miller couldn't help but remind them.
