And just like that, Naomi Neal was ignored by Aiden Shaw, right after he'd delivered a metaphorical slap to her face.
Hannah Hale glanced at Naomi Neal, let out a quiet chuckle, and turned to follow Laura and the others.
"She asked you out for coffee?"
A passing nurse greeted Aiden Shaw. He nodded in acknowledgment, his expression worried as he spoke to Laura.
Laura Lowell wasn't in the habit of tattling. She had only spoken up because she couldn't stand the sight of Naomi Neal's fake, sanctimonious act.
"Mhm, a little while ago."
Aiden Shaw's brow furrowed slightly. "You just got the cast off your foot today."
Laura Lowell hadn't expected that to be his main concern.
"What did she say to you?"
Aiden Shaw didn't believe Naomi Neal had asked Laura Lowell out for coffee just to chat.
"Oh, we just chatted about... her feelings for you, which are apparently as deep as the ocean."
