He grabbed the car keys from his desk and stormed out the door.
Laura had said she was going shopping with Hannah Hale that morning. As he stepped into the elevator, Aiden called Hannah.
"Hello, Aid—"
"Is Laura with you?"
Aiden's rushed voice trembled slightly. He had no idea what had happened to her, or if she was in danger.
Hannah Hale could tell something was wrong from the sound of Aiden's voice. "We parted ways at the coffee shop just a little while ago. Laura should be at The Century Hotel right now. Has something happened?"
"She might be in danger. Do you know the room number?"
"I do. I'll send it to you right now."
After hanging up, Hannah sent the address to Aiden and rushed over as well.

Laura Lowell leaned against the corner wall, panting. She still clutched the shattered vase in her hand, her arm scratched by shards of porcelain.
