Ethan Shaw muttered to himself. Just as he was about to place the phone on the coffee table, his brother came out of the bedroom.
"Who said you could touch my phone? And who was that on the video call?"
Ethan Shaw gulped nervously. "Th-that… was my sister-in-law."
Aiden Shaw walked over, snatched the phone, and immediately called her back.
Laura Lowell saw Aiden Shaw's profile picture pop up on her screen. She clutched her bathrobe tighter, making sure nothing was exposed before tapping the answer button.
Seeing the girl's hand clutching the collar of her robe and her freshly showered face, Aiden Shaw's gaze, as cold as a thousand-year-old glacier, landed on a certain someone.
Ethan Shaw sucked in a sharp breath, his will to live draining away. That glare was like a pair of ice daggers stabbing into him, making his heart pound with terror. He was genuinely afraid his brother might kill him to tie up loose ends.
