"What do you think your brother would do if he heard you say that?"
Laura Lowell took a few steps back, putting some distance between herself and Evan Jacobs.
"Don't get me wrong. I'm like this with all the beautiful women I meet. I'm just all talk."
Laura Lowell gave him an annoyed look. "Sorry, I'm busy. I have to go."
"Sister-in-law, I'm actually on your side. I want you and my brother to be together. The potential wife my mom picked out for him isn't nearly as pretty as you."
Evan Jacobs shouted at Laura Lowell's retreating figure.
'First he calls me sister-in-law, and then he mentions a prospective wife his mom picked out.'
'He really knows how to stir up trouble.'
Laura Lowell hailed a taxi by the roadside. After giving the driver her address, she leaned back in the rear seat and closed her eyes for a bit.
