At the entrance of The Azure Pavilion, Laura Lowell stepped out of a car, holding up a red umbrella. The rain landed on it, making a PITTER-PATTER sound.
"LoriaLaura, what a coincidence."
A sweet voice, mixed with the sound of the rain, struck Laura Lowell's ears. It was so familiar, it bordered on sickening.
She turned around and saw Yvonne Sloan slowly approaching. It was impossible to put on a nonchalant act and pretend they were still the dearest of sisters.
After all, some things—and some people—are not worthy of forgiveness.
It was like a shattered glass. No matter how well you glued it back together, the cracks would always remain.
Laura Lowell looked at her, her eyes as clear as glass and utterly calm. She simply nodded before continuing on her way.
