The moment Laura Lowell let go of the bottle, she collapsed into Aiden Shaw's arms. She had used every last ounce of her strength for that lunge.
"Are you okay?"
The hand Aiden Shaw had hovering around Laura Lowell's waist suddenly tightened, trembling slightly.
Tears slid from the corners of Laura Lowell's eyes down her cheeks. "I'm fine, just tired. Let's go home."
Worried, Aiden Shaw picked her up and left the private room without a moment's delay.
After leaving the restaurant, Aiden Shaw opened the passenger-side door and gently placed Laura Lowell in the seat. He then went to the trunk to get the first-aid kit. "Let me treat your wound first."
As he treated the wound, Aiden Shaw's hands trembled slightly. It was as if even breathing was painful.
"Don't worry. It's just a small cut. I'm just a little tired. I'll be fine after I get some sleep at home."
